Heger Weissburgunder octave dry

The Weissburgunder Oktav from the Dr. Heger winery is a lively white wine from the Kaiserstuhl region – light-footed, aromatically precise and with a freshness that makes it an uncomplicated companion for many occasions.

The Dr. Heger winery is one of the most renowned estates in the Kaiserstuhl region of Breisgau. The family cultivates vineyards on the region's volcanic weathered soil – loess, clay, and foothills – and has been working with a focus on individual vineyard sites for decades. In the Heger range, the Oktav wine represents approachable, uncomplicated enjoyment without compromising on expression.

In the glass, the Pinot Blanc displays aromas of young mirabelle plum, crisp pear, and citrus zest. The acidity is invigorating yet well-integrated – not sharp, but a refined line that keeps the palate fresh. The finish is both dry and fruity, with a bright, fresh aftertaste.

Serving temperature 10–12 °C. Drinking window: now until 2026. Pairs well with goat cheese salad, grilled vegetables, pasta with pesto, or a summer fish dish. Also a good choice as an aperitif.

Dr. Heger Winery

The Dr. Heger winery – a country doctor laid the foundation in 1935. Max Heger purchased fallow parcels of land on the Ihringer Winklerberg vineyard, and his son Wolfgang continued the business in the 1960s. Today, oenologist Joachim Heger manages the estate in the third generation – together with his wife Silvia. He has been chairman of the VDP Baden (Association of German Prädikat Wine Estates) since 2009. In addition to the Winklerberg vineyard, the estate now also includes parcels on the Achkarrer Schlossberg vineyard – both classified as "Erste Lage" (Premier Cru) by the VDP. On volcanic weathered soils with a loess topsoil, wines with character, depth, and fine minerality are cultivated here. Top-class Baden wines that you can taste.
