Domaine des Pierrelles Côte Rôtie AOP Paul Jaboulet Aîné

Côte Rôtie is one of the most demanding sites in the northern Rhône — narrow steep terraces, extreme slope inclination, Syrah that behaves completely differently in this climate than in the flat south. The Domaine des Pierrelles from Paul Jaboulet Aîné comes from exactly this environment.

Paul Jaboulet Aîné is one of the most traditional négociant houses of the Rhône, based in Tain-l'Hermitage since 1834. The Côte Rôtie is a reference site for the house: Syrah on granite weathered soils, with the influence of Viognier typical for the northern Rhône, which gives the wine finesse and florality.

In the glass, a deep dark ruby red appears. The nose opens with dried black berries, violets, and a hint of clove — added to this is the olive note characteristic of Côte Rôtie and an undertone of dark chocolate. On the palate, medium to full body, ripe, silky tannins, good length in the finish.
