Crozes-Hermitage Domaine De Roure Red

Paul Jaboulet Aîné has been rooted in the Rhône Valley since 1834 — one of the oldest and most famous houses in the region. The Domaine de Roure is located in the Crozes-Hermitage hills around the granite monolith of the Hermitage hill. Granite weathered soils and the continental climate of the northern Rhône Valley shape the style: powerful, but with structure.

In the glass, deep garnet red with violet reflections. On the nose, dark blackberry, black olive, and a clear pull of black pepper — the hallmark of northern Syrah. Plus sweet spice notes, graphite, and a hint of smokiness. On the palate, medium to full body, present but polished tannins, lively acidity, and a long, spicy finish.

Serving recommendation: Ready to drink now with some air. Serve at 16–17 °C. Pairs well with braised leg of lamb with rosemary, beef entrecôte from the grill, or a strong cheese like Époisses.
