Dehesa La Granja
The grapes for the Dehesa La Granja grow in a special microclimate, which is determined by the water of the Guareña river.
In the glass, its color is cherry red, and on the nose, one perceives aromas reminiscent of jam and dark berries. A powerful, full-bodied red with beautiful tannins, where the wood aging is noticeable.
The aging takes place in American oak.
The rise of Alejandro Fernández from humble beginnings to one of the most significant winemaking personalities has long been legendary. The man from Pesquera, a village on the Duero, has dreamed of his own winery since early childhood. However, the first half of his life brings him no step closer to this dream. He works as a farmhand, as a carpenter, and finally as a representative for a farm machinery factory. Only when this factory ceases operations does Alejandro begin to build his own existence.
He takes out a loan, buys a vineyard and old cellar equipment, and names the winery after his birthplace: Tinto Pesquera – the red from Pesquera. That was in 1974. Alejandro was 42 years old and his home, Ribera del Duero, was a largely unknown wine region. But that was soon to change. The autodidact focuses on uncompromising quality, plenty of extract, and above all the Tempranillo grape variety. He increasingly wins friends for his rich and concentrated wines.
One of them is finally the young Robert M. Parker, whose discovery of Tinto Pesquera as the "Pétrus of Spain" helps Alejandro and with him the whole region to a breakthrough. But despite the global success, Alejandro Fernández remains incredibly down-to-earth and, above all, restless. For his four daughters in total, he founds three more wineries in the Ribera, La Mancha, and the Tierra del Vino de Zamora, and proves every time anew that he is the undisputed master of Tempranillo.

The Bodega
Alejandro Fernández – pioneer spirit from the Ribera del Duero. While others were clearing vines for sugar beets in the 70s, he was planting. The rise from farm worker to legendary winemaker: at 42, he took out a loan, bought a vineyard and old winery equipment – and founded Tinto Pesquera.
His motto: uncompromising quality, lots of extract, Tempranillo. The region was unknown at the time – he made it famous.
To this day, down-to-earth, restless, master of his craft. He founded three more wineries for his daughters. Alejandro Fernández – a name, a legend.
