Conceito Tinto
A classic Douro red wine from the heart of Portugal – complex, structured and with the unmistakable character of the region.
The Douro Valley is one of the oldest demarcated wine-growing regions in the world. The vineyards here are characterized by slate soil, intense sunlight, and significant temperature variations between day and night – conditions that contribute to concentration and aromatic complexity. The Conceito Tinto 2018 is a classic Douro blend of five indigenous grape varieties: Tinta Roriz, Touriga Franca, Touriga Nacional, Rufete, and Tinta Amarela.
In the glass, it displays dark blackberry and plum, complemented by notes of lavender, cedarwood, and a hint of dried herbs. The palate is full-bodied with ripe, well-integrated tannins and a fresh acidity that gives the wine structure. The finish is long and spicy.
Serving temperature: 17–18 °C. Pairs well with leg of lamb with rosemary, Iberico pork, or aged Manchego cheese. Drinking window: 2024–2029.
