Colomé Autentico Malbec

So close to heaven – and yet completely authentic.

Bodega Colomé is located in Salta, Argentina, at an altitude of over 2,300 meters – one of the highest wineries in the world. The Colomé Auténtico Malbec is a personal tribute to the Daválos family, the winery's former owners. Señor Daválos was a staunch opponent of barrel aging, and so this wine is still vinified entirely without oak, according to biodynamic principles. The result truly lives up to the name "Auténtico."

Tasting note:
The nose reveals ripe, clear Malbec fruit: blackberries, plums, and black pepper create a concentrated, complex bouquet. On the palate, the wine unfolds tremendous power and density, elegantly integrated by refined, fully ripe tannins. The remarkable freshness for such a powerful wine lingers through to the long, intense finish.

Bodega Colomé

Nestled in the heart of Argentina's Calchaquí valleys, at an altitude of up to 3,111 meters, lies Bodega Colomé – one of the oldest and highest-altitude wineries in the world. Founded in 1831, it carries nearly 200 years of history in its vines. Behind Colomé are Donald and Ursula Hess, who realized their lifelong dream here. And winemaker Thibaut Delmotte, who since 2005 has ensured with great sensitivity that every wine perfectly reflects what this place has to offer: intense aromas, vibrant fruit, and a clarity rarely found elsewhere. What makes it so special? The extreme altitude, the intense sunlight, and the cool nights – all of this is present in every sip. For Colomé, sustainable practices in the vineyard are not just a nice extra, but a fundamental principle: respect for the land, the people, and future generations.
