Colomé Estate Malbec

Colomé Estate Malbec
Colomé Estate Malbec — a wine born where the Andean air is thin and the silence absolute. Bodega Colomé is located in Salta, at an altitude of over 2,300 meters, making it one of the highest wineries in the world. If you're looking for a Malbec that's more than just a pleasant everyday wine, you've come to the right place.
In the glass, it displays a deep, almost opaque red with violet reflections—the first sign that old vines are at work here. Indeed, some of the grapes come from vines that are between 60 and 150 years old. These roots dig deep into the barren, high-altitude soils, yielding grapes of exceptional concentration. The Malbec is complemented by small amounts of Cabernet Sauvignon and Tannat, aged in barriques.
The nose is complex and distinct: black cherry, blackberry, dark chocolate , along with a subtle spiciness reminiscent of mountain herbs and leather. On the palate, it is carried by silky tannins—powerful, but never harsh.
