Amalaya de Colomé Valle Calchaquí

Salta is located in the northwest of Argentina, and the vineyards of Bodega Colomé are among the highest in the world — up to 3,111 meters. This extreme altitude brings intense UV radiation, cool nights, and a long growing season. The result is grapes with dense color, ripe fruit, and lively acidity.

The Amalaya is a cuvée of Malbec, Cabernet Sauvignon, Tannat, and the local rarity Bonarda. After aging in barriques, it shows a deep ruby red with purple reflections. On the nose, dark blackberry, plum, and a hint of dried herbs dominate — typical for high-altitude Malbec from the Valle Calchaquí. Juicy texture on the palate, tannins with grip but without harshness, and a spicy finish with notes of black pepper and cedar wood.

Bodega Colomé

In the middle of the Calchaquí Valleys of Argentina, at an altitude of up to 3,111 meters, lies Bodega Colomé – one of the oldest and highest wineries in the world. Founded in 1831, it carries almost 200 years of history in its vines. Behind Colomé are Donald and Ursula Hess, who have realized their life's dream here.

And winemaker Thibaut Delmotte, who has been ensuring with great sensitivity since 2005 that every wine shows exactly what this place has to offer: intense aromas, lively fruit, and a clarity that you rarely find. The special thing?
