COLOMÉ Torrontés Estate Valle Calchaquí
So close to heaven – Bodega Colomé, Salta/Argentina
Everything about Bodega Colomé is extraordinary: with vineyards situated at altitudes of 2,500 to 3,015 meters, it boasts the highest vineyards in the world. It is also the oldest winery in Argentina.
In this extreme terroir – a dry climate, large day-night temperature fluctuations , and predominantly sandy, gravelly, and stony soils – Torrontés thrives in perhaps its most refined form. Golden-yellow, medium-sized grapes with intense aromas, a hint of muscat, and a vibrancy that few other growing regions can produce. It is rightly considered Argentina's most interesting white wine grape.
In the glass: Golden yellow color with an intense, floral-fruity aroma – rose petals, honey, and ripe citrus fruits blend elegantly. On the palate, fresh and full-bodied, with a long, aromatic finish. A white wine that embodies excellence in every respect.
