Clos Saint Florent Saumur Blanc
Pure Chenin Blanc from the heart of Saumur – with the tension between cool acidity and soft fruit for which this Loire appellation is known.
Langlois-Chateau is one of the oldest houses in the Loire and has been rooted in Saumur since 1885. The Clos Saint Florent is their prime example of Chenin Blanc from tuffeau limestone soil: a single vineyard that transfers minerality directly into the bottle.
In the glass, yellow pear, white peach, and a hint of quince appear, underlaid by a fine honey note and the typical flint tone of the tuffeau. The acidity is present but embedded – not a sharp cut, but a vibrant tension that lets the finish fade out long and salty.
With good storage, even beyond that. Serving temperature 10–12 °C.
Pairs with zander fillet with beurre blanc, goat cheese from the Touraine, or a creamy risotto with herbs.
