Clos Saint Florent Saumur Blanc

Pure Chenin Blanc from the heart of Saumur – with the tension between cool acidity and soft fruit for which this Loire appellation is known.

Langlois-Château is one of the oldest wineries in the Loire Valley and has been rooted in Saumur since 1885. Their Clos Saint Florent is their prime example of Chenin Blanc from tuff-limestone soil: a single vineyard that transfers its minerality directly into the bottle.

In the glass, yellow pear, white peach, and a hint of quince are revealed, underpinned by a delicate honey note and the typical flinty hue of the tuff. The acidity is present but integrated – not a sharp cut, but a lively tension that allows the finish to linger long and saline.

Drinking window: now until 2030, and beyond if stored properly. Serving temperature 10–12 °C.
It goes well with pike-perch fillet with beurre blanc, goat cheese from the Touraine region, or a creamy risotto with herbs.
