Chianti 'Renzo M.' DOCG - Magnum -
A Chianti Rufina that shows why this small vineyard in Tuscany is among the best Chianti areas in the world: fresh, structured, with real depth in the glass.
The Renzo Masi winery is located in Rufina, a small town in the Sieve Valley east of Florence. The vineyards lie in the Basciano cru, west of Rufina, on steep slopes with narrow valleys—meticulous manual labor that pays off in the glass. Father Renzo established the business, and his son Paolo brings winemaking training and enthusiasm. A classic Tuscan family winery focused on Sangiovese quality.
On the nose, sour cherry, raspberry, and violet, along with a subtle spiciness. Balanced on the palate: fresh acidity, soft tannins, and juicy fruit. The finish lingers with delicate herbs and a touch of earthiness—typical Rufina, slightly cooler and more mineral than the Classico.
Pairs well with Bistecca alla Fiorentina, Pasta al ragù, or aged Pecorino cheese. Serving temperature: 16–18 °C. The magnum bottle ages more slowly and evenly—ideal for a vintage that still has a few years of aging potential.
