Casillero Del Diablo Chardonnay

An accessible Chardonnay from Chile's most famous winery – fruity and fresh, with subtle oak spice and an uncomplicated character for everyday enjoyment.

Concha y Toro was founded in 1883 in the Maipo Valley and is now one of the largest and most famous wineries in South America. The legend of the Casillero del Diablo – the "Devil's Cellar," where Don Melchor locked away his best wines and kept burglars away with devil stories – stands for the best grapes from the country's coolest growing regions. This Chardonnay comes from the Casablanca Valley, where cool Pacific winds allow the grapes to ripen slowly and ensure clear aromatics with lively acidity.

Pineapple and green apple appear in the glass, along with citrus zest and a subtle hint of vanilla from the oak aging. The body is lean, the acidity fresh and clean, the finish short and pleasant – a Chardonnay without rough edges that simply works.
