Casillero Del Diablo Merlot

A classic Chilean Merlot that demonstrates why the Maipo Valley has been one of South America's most reliable red wine regions for decades.

Concha y Toro is Chile's most famous winery — founded in Santiago in 1883, it now has vineyards in the country's most important valleys. The Casillero del Diablo line is its flagship entry-level wine: consistently focused on fruit expression and uncomplicated drinking pleasure.

In the glass, a rich, dark red. On the nose, ripe plum and blackberry, along with notes of dark chocolate and a hint of tobacco. On the palate, medium-bodied, soft tannins, and a subtly smoky-spicy finesse on the finish—typical for Merlot from the warm, continental climate of the Maipo Valley.

Serving suggestion: 16–18 °C, without long decanting time. Pairs well with pasta with tomato and meat sauce, grilled lamb, or a strong semi-hard cheese. Also enjoyable on its own as an uncomplicated evening wine.
