Casillero Del Diablo Carmenere

Carménère is the grape variety that Chile has embraced – long mistaken for Merlot, today one of the country's most distinctive red wine identities. The Casillero del Diablo from Concha y Toro shows why.

Concha y Toro is one of Chile's oldest and most renowned wineries, founded in 1883 in the Maipo Valley. The Casillero del Diablo line – named after the legend that founder Don Melchor invented the devil as the guardian of his best barrels – represents approachable, varietally typical wines from the central Chilean wine region.

In the glass, it displays a dark, deep red color. The nose offers aromas of plum and black cherry, along with roasted coffee notes and a hint of dark chocolate – typical of this grape variety. On the palate, it is full-bodied and smooth, with rounded tannins and a pleasantly long, slightly spicy finish.
