Campo Sireso Vino Rosso IGT Veneto 0.75L

Campo Sireso demonstrates what Merlot can achieve on the moraine hills of Alto Mincio: a dry red wine with a clear origin, vinified from 100% Merlot since the 2021 vintage.

Behind this wine is the Ottella family winery, owned by Francesco and Michele Montresor, which has its roots on the southern shore of Lake Garda. The vineyards lie on the characteristic morainic soils of the Alto Mincio region—mineral-rich, well-drained hills that give the Merlot a structure and freshness rarely found in warmer, flatter areas. By switching to 100% Merlot, Ottella is making a clear stylistic statement: terroir, not blending.

In the glass, it displays a dark ruby red color. The nose offers ripe blackberry and plum, complemented by a hint of violet and subtle spice. On the palate, it is soft and approachable, with velvety tannins and a fresh acidity that keeps the finish lively.

Ready to drink now and within the next two to three years. Serving temperature 16–18 °C. Pairs well with pasta al ragù, grilled leg of lamb, or a mature Taleggio.
