Bollinger La Grande Année Rosé

The Bollinger La Grande Année Rosé is not a champagne for casual moments. It is only created in years that Bollinger classifies as exceptional, and it carries the entire artisanal weight of this house.

The heart of it is the Côte aux Enfants — a monopoly vineyard in Aÿ that belongs exclusively to Bollinger. The Pinot Noir from this plot is only harvested when it has reached optimal ripeness, then vinified into red wine and aged in small, old oak barrels. This red component gives the Rosé its structure and character. Every bottle is still riddled and disgorged by hand to this day — no industrial shortcuts.

A delicate pink glows in the glass. The nose opens with raspberry, wild strawberry, and cherry, accompanied by peach and quince. On the palate, a creamy perlage, distinct volume, and a present but integrated acidity with a salty undertone. The finish is long and aromatic — berries and ripe fruit linger.

Serve it at 8–10 °C. It pairs well with red tuna tataki, blue lobster, or roasted duck breast with apple-quince compote — dishes with substance that meet the champagne on equal footing.

Champagne Bollinger

Bollinger is not a champagne that explains itself – it reveals itself. Since 1829, the house in Aÿ has operated according to the same principles: meticulous craftsmanship, Pinot Noir at its core, and maturity as a mark of quality.

What sets Bollinger apart from many others: The wines are vinified in genuine oak barrels – a process that hardly anyone else undertakes anymore. Riddling and disgorging are done by hand. No shortcuts, no simplifications.

Whether the approachable Special Cuvée or the legendary Vieilles Vignes Françaises from pre-phylloxera vines – there is real attitude in every glass.
