Barbaresco Rabaja

The Barbaresco Rabajà from Faletto comes from one of the most prestigious single vineyards in Piedmont – and you can taste it.

The Rabajà vineyard lies in the heart of Barbaresco, on calcareous soils with a high sand content, which give the Nebbiolo a special aromatic finesse. Faletto is a small family winery that cultivates its vineyards traditionally and avoids excessive intervention in the cellar.

In the glass, the wine displays the classic Nebbiolo structure: aromas of dried rose, cherry pit, and licorice, along with a hint of tar and tobacco that opens up with a little aeration. The tannins are firm but not harsh – typical of Rabajà, which is considered somewhat more approachable than the top vineyards of Serralunga. The finish is long, with a mineral note and subtle bitterness.

Drinking window: now until 2032, with a decanting time of at least one hour. Serving temperature 17–18 °C.

  • Classic: Brasato al Barolo or wild ragù with pappardelle
  • Cheese: aged Parmigiano Reggiano or Castelmagno
  • Occasion: a quiet evening where wine takes center stage.

Faletto represents wines from Piedmont that highlight two of the region's most characteristic grape varieties: the fragrant white wine character of Arneis and the depth and structure of Nebbiolo. At Vinoscout, you'll find five wines from this selection – from approachable entry-level wines to sophisticated reds that deserve patience and attention. The price range, from around €34 to over €310, reflects the diversity that Piedmont has to offer.
