Asili
The Asili from Faletto is a Barbaresco from one of the most prestigious single vineyards in Piedmont — concentrated, structured, with the characteristic backbone of Nebbiolo.
The Asili site is located in the heart of Barbaresco, on calcareous tuff soil, which gives the Nebbiolo a special mineral tension. Faletto is one of the producers that relies on traditional vinification: long maceration times, aging in large wooden barrels. The result is wines that need time — and reward it.
In the glass, the Asili shows the classic aroma profile of a mature Barbaresco: dried rose, cherry compote, and licorice on the nose, underscored by tar and tobacco. On the palate, firm but silky tannins, lively acidity, long finish with notes of leather spice and dark chocolate.
Drinking recommendation:
- Temperature: 17–18 °C, decant for at least one hour
- Food: Brasato al Barolo, game ragù, aged Parmigiano Reggiano, or truffle risotto
