A Pinot Noir that shows what the Palatinate can get out of this grape variety: red-fruited, structured, with the typical depth of a seriously made estate wine.

The A. Christmann winery is one of the most renowned estates in the VDP-Pfalz (Association of German Prädikat Wine Estates). The winery cultivates its vineyards around Gimmeldingen and Königsbach biodynamically – organic certification is not a marketing promise, but a long-standing practice. The "Aus den Lagen" (From the Vineyards) Pinot Noir blends grapes from various estate vineyards in the southern Mittelhaardt region and, as a VDP.GUTSWEIN (Estate Wine), is the entry-level wine in the Christmann range – not the flagship, but an honest reflection of the estate's philosophy.

In the glass, it displays classic Pinot Noir aromas: sour cherry, raspberry, and a hint of earth. The body is light to medium-bodied, the tannins fine-grained, and the acidity lively without harshness. Not a heavy, extracted red wine – rather elegant and very drinkable.

Best served at 16–17 °C . Pairs well with salmon trout, roast veal, mushroom risotto, or a mature goat cheese. If opened now, it's at its most open and refreshing.
