Riesling on the Schlossberg

Calm in appearance, but with noticeable depth behind it — the Aufm Schlossberg is a Riesling that doesn't impose itself, but unfolds.

The In den Zehn Morgen winery cultivates its grapes on the Schlossberg vineyard, which gives the wine its name. Riesling from such sites typically develops that mineral tension which sustains the wine for years.

On the nose, it displays a creamy base structure into which pear and yellow apple are inscribed—ripe, but without heaviness. Citrus fruits and a hint of stone fruit bring freshness, while minerality and a touch of light tobacco in the background hint at the extract that the wine then delivers on the palate. The acidity is present, but integrated—not sharp, but a gentle pull that carries the long finish.
