Riesling on the Schlossberg

Riesling on the Schlossberg
Quiet in appearance, but with noticeable depth behind it — the Aufm Schlossberg is a Riesling that does not push itself, but unfolds.
The Weingut In den Zehn Morgen ages its grapes at the Schlossberg site, which gives the wine its name. Riesling on such sites typically develops that mineral tension that carries the wine over years.
In the nose, it shows a creamy basic structure, into which pear and yellow apple are inscribed — ripe, but without heaviness. Citrus fruits and a hint of stone fruit bring freshness, while stone and a touch of light tobacco in the background point to the extract that the wine then actually delivers in the mouth. The acidity is present, but integrated — not a sharp wire, but a quiet pull that carries the long finish.
- Food: Fried zander with butter sauce, chicken in Riesling, mature Comté
- Temperature: 10–12 °C
