Solengo Toscana IGT

Solengo Toscana IGT
The Solengo is Argiano's wild side: a Bordeaux-inspired cuvée from Tuscany that combines power and structure with southern warmth.
The Argiano winery is located on the southwestern slope of the Montalcino hill, one of the most renowned sites in Tuscany. Known primarily for its Brunello, Argiano shows with the Solengo what the region can do beyond Sangiovese: an international cuvée, aged in new French barriques, which give the wine depth and a silky frame.
Dark ruby red with violet reflections appears in the glass. The nose opens with black cherry, blackberry, and plum, underneath which lies a hint of cedar wood and roasted aromas from the barrel aging. On the palate, the Solengo feels dense and concentrated — ripe, well-integrated tannins, a core of dark fruits, long finish with a fine licorice note.
- Food: Braised beef shoulder, wild game ragù on pappardelle, aged Pecorino
- Temperature: 17–18 °C, feel free to open two hours beforehand

Argiano – for centuries, this name has stood for Tuscan winemaking at its finest. The estate lies in the heart of the Brunello zone, not far from Montalcino, where red soil, sun, and rugged hills provide the grapes with everything they need. What is produced here is not your average wine. The Sangiovese vines root deeply and ripen slowly – and you can taste it in the glass: a velvety texture, dark cherries, a hint of tobacco and earth. Powerful, yet elegant. Argiano combines tradition with modern thinking – in the vineyard as well as in the cellar. The result is wines that will stay with you long after you've finished tasting them.
