Argiano Solengo Toscana IGT Magnum

Argiano Solengo Toscana IGT Magnum
The Solengo is Argiano's great cuvée statement: a Tuscan red wine that combines the power of the region with international grape variety logic — structured, deep, and designed for aging.
Argiano is located in southern Montalcino, on a hill overlooking the Val d'Orcia. The winery was founded in the 16th century and is now one of the best-known producers in the zone. Alongside the Brunello di Montalcino, the Solengo has been the house's flagship since the 1990s — a cuvée of Cabernet Sauvignon, Merlot, Syrah, and Petit Verdot, aged in new French barriques.
A dense ruby red appears in the glass. The nose opens with blackberry, black cherry, and cassis, beneath which are notes of cedar wood, dark chocolate, and a hint of graphite. On the palate, full body, firm but well-integrated tannins, lively acidity as a counterpoint — not a heavy, flat southern wine, but a red wine with drive and length. The finish remains long, with tobacco and a touch of toasted wood.
The magnum bottle (1.5 l) ages more slowly than the standard bottle — ideal if you are storing the wine in the cellar for a few more years.

Argiano – for centuries, this name has stood for Tuscan winemaking at its finest. The estate lies in the heart of the Brunello zone, not far from Montalcino, where red soil, sun, and rugged hills provide the grapes with everything they need. What is produced here is not your average wine. The Sangiovese vines root deeply and ripen slowly – and you can taste it in the glass: a velvety texture, dark cherries, a hint of tobacco and earth. Powerful, yet elegant. Argiano combines tradition with modern thinking – in the vineyard as well as in the cellar. The result is wines that will stay with you long after you've finished tasting them.
