Angostura Rum 1919 in GP 0.7L

The Angostura 1919 is a rum from Trinidad and Tobago: soft, round, and of creamy sweetness in the aroma. It comes in a gift box and is therefore also suitable as a gift for rum friends.

Angostura is based in Trinidad and is known worldwide primarily for the Aromatic Bitters that are in numerous classic cocktails. With the 1919, the house shows its side as a rum producer.

On the nose, it opens up in a multi-layered way with coconut, caramel, and vanilla. On the palate, it is very soft: warm notes of chocolate, nougat, almond cream, and honey. The finish is long and ends with a delicate melt.

Recommendation: neat at room temperature in a tulip glass or with a large ice cube. It also works in an Old Fashioned with a dash of Angostura Bitters, because the chocolate and nougat notes meet spice there.

Angostura

Produced in Trinidad since 1824, Angostura Bitters is an essential part of the bar world. What began as a stomach remedy by a German army surgeon is now the most widely used bitter concentrate worldwide. The original Aromatic Bitters – recognizable by the oversized label that is still intentionally placed incorrectly today – brings depth to Old Fashioned, Manhattan, or champagne cocktails with a single dash. In addition, Orange Bitters stand for citrus freshness and Cocoa Bitters for dark, nutty accents. Dosage: sparingly – one to two dashes are enough.
