Mount Riley

Mount Riley – Marlborough, as John Buchanan experienced it as a young boy: paradise. In 1992, he realized his dream of owning a family winery, named after the summit of the Richmond Range. Today, his daughter Amy and son-in-law Matt run the estate in the sixth generation. Six vineyards in legendary Marlborough, warm days, cool nights, long ripening periods. The philosophy: friendliness, down-to-earthness, approachability. From Sauvignon Blanc to Pinot Noir – wines with intense aromas, as little intervention as possible. Because a great wine is made in the vineyard, not in the cellar.

Family-run winery at the foot of the Richmond Range –
Mount Riley

John Buchanan founded Mount Riley in 1992 in Marlborough, named after a peak in the Richmond Range. Today, Amy and Matt run the estate in the sixth generation: six vineyards, long ripening periods thanks to cool nights, wines with a clear sense of origin – from aromatic Sauvignon Blanc to elegant Pinot Noir.
