Across more than 330 hectares of vineyards, a fascinating contrast thrives: the elegant Nobile di Montepulciano from old Sangiovese vines and the powerful Syrah of Cortona , which has found its ideal home in the clay-rich, hot soils at the foot of the city.
The estate has belonged to the Marchesi Antinori family since 1990 – and bears their signature: respect for tradition, courage to evolve. The underground cellars, where barriques and casks made of European oak mature, are symbolic of this. Wines that don't deny their origin – and yet tell its story anew.

Tuscany between Montepulciano and Cortona
La Braccesca lies where the hills around Montepulciano merge into the wide plain of Cortona – one of the most climatically and geologically diverse corners of Tuscany . On over 330 hectares of vineyards, old Sangiovese vines for the Nobile di Montepulciano grow alongside Syrah plots on clay-rich, sun-drenched soils on the outskirts of Cortona. Two characters, two soils, two expressions – united on one estate.
Since 1990, La Braccesca has belonged to the Marchesi Antinori, one of Italy's most influential wine families. Their influence is evident: respect for the old grape varieties and vineyard sites, combined with the courage to try new things. The underground cellars, where barriques and larger casks made of European oak are stored, are not merely for show – they are part of an aging process that gives the wines time to express their origin.
The result is wines with a clear connection to their place of origin: the Nobile with the cool spice and tannin structure of the Sangiovese Grosso, the Syrah with the dark fruit and peppery finish that Cortona imparts. Both pair well with Tuscan cuisine – bistecca, venison ragù, aged pecorino.
