Kaapzicht Estate

Kaapzicht Estate —
a family winery with views of Table Mountain
Kaapzicht Estate lies on the slopes of Stellenbosch — the name says it all: from the vineyards, the view stretches directly to Cape Town and Table Mountain. First documented in 1712 under the name "Friesland," the estate has belonged to the Steytler family since 1946. Since 1984, the wines grown and bottled here have been marketed under the Kaapzicht label.
Today, Danie Steytler runs the winery as the second-generation winemaker, carrying on his father Daan's craft and possessing his own precise understanding of the terroir's potential. His mother, Yngvild, is responsible for global export markets. A true family business where every hand counts.
The wines reflect the diversity of Stellenbosch's vineyards: robust red wines made from Cabernet Sauvignon and Pinotage, but also fresh white wines that reflect the region's Atlantic-influenced nights. Anyone seeking South African winemaking with history and a strong connection to the land will find a reliable starting point at Kaapzicht.
