Fire hearths

Feuerheerds is one of the oldest Porti wine houses in existence – founded in 1815 by a German-Portuguese family deeply rooted in the Douro region. Today, this history lives on in the glass: powerful, complex, and with that quiet elegance that only true tradition can produce.

What sets Feuerheerds apart? A consistent approach. Whether a velvety Tawny, a profound Ruby, or a festive Vintage – here you can sense the respect for the vineyard and the slow maturation in old wooden casks. No rushing, no shortcuts. Just Port as it should be.

Feuerheerds Douro Reserva aged in Port barrels

Feuerheerds –
Port from the Douro, family-owned since 1815

Feuerheerds was founded in 1815 by a German-Portuguese family, making it one of the oldest port houses in the world. What began back then on the Douro River remains to this day not a question of volume, but of character: vineyards they know, casks they understand, and a style that doesn't follow fleeting trends.

In the cellar, Tawny, Ruby, and Vintage wines mature in old wooden barrels – no shortcuts. The Tawny develops its typical notes of dried apricot and roasted nuts, the Ruby remains fruit-forward and full-bodied, and the Vintage demonstrates what the Douro is capable of when given time. All three styles share the same understated character: depth without heaviness, power without ostentation.

For those who understand port not as an accompaniment to dessert, but as an independent culinary experience, Feuerheerds offers a reliable starting point – whether with mature Manchego cheese, dark chocolate or simply on its own after a meal.
