Since 1890, the Famille Pugibet has managed its winery in the Languedoc region of southern France, not far from the city of Béziers. What began as a classic family business has developed under François Pugibet into one of the most interesting addresses in the region – a place where continuity and curiosity are not a contradiction.
At Domaine La Colombette, in addition to Syrah and Grenache, varieties are grown that are rarely found in the Languedoc: including Cabernet Blanc and specially developed PIWI vines that do not require copper or sulfur treatment. These fungus-resistant varieties are not a marketing project, but the result of years of breeding work – with the goal of burdening the vineyard as little as possible while still harvesting grapes with genuine character.
The wines reflect the Mediterranean climate of the region: sun-ripened, with lively fruit and a freshness that one does not always expect from this area. Whether classically aged or made from one of the new PIWI varieties – the bottles from La Colombette tell the story of a family business that knows where it comes from and yet looks ahead.
