Domaine du Colombier –
four generations of Loire, one signature
Jean-Yves Bretaudeau took over the family winery from his father at the end of 1996 – as the fourth generation to cultivate the land near Nantes. What hasn't changed since then is the commitment to producing wines that reflect the true essence of the Loire Valley. No staging, no stylization – just the soil, the vine, and the craft.
The range comprises over 30 different wines from 13 grape varieties, clearly demonstrating the multifaceted nature of the Loire Valley : from fresh Muscadet styles to more full-bodied blends that require time to mature. Each grape variety receives the vinification that suits it best – not the style that is currently in demand.
Sustainability is not just a marketing slogan at Bretaudeau: The winery holds the Haute Valeur Environnementale (HVE) certification, which sets specific requirements for soil management, water consumption, and biodiversity. Those who buy here get Loire wine with a conscience.
