Domaine Chiroulet

Domaine Chiroulet – an independent family winery for over 150 years. 65 hectares of vineyards at the highest altitude in Gascony, approximately 180 meters above sea level. The name comes from the wind – "Chiroula" in the local dialect. It blows continuously, and together with the southern exposure, the vines produce healthy grapes and the highest quality. Philippe Fézas, a sixth-generation winemaker, is considered a "wine artist" of Gascony. In 2015, Chiroulet was awarded the title of best winery in Gascony by the French wine guide Bettane+Desseauve. Gascony, as it tastes.

Domaine Chiroulet –
six generations of Gascons at 180 meters altitude

Domaine Chiroulet lies in the heart of Gascony , at an altitude of approximately 180 meters – the highest vineyard site in the region. The name says it all: "Chiroula" means wind in the local dialect, and it blows here constantly. The southern exposure and continuous air movement keep the grapes healthy and give the wines a natural freshness rarely found in the lower-lying areas of Gascony.

Chiroulet has been family-owned for over 150 years. Philippe Fézas, a sixth-generation winemaker, has transformed the estate into one of the most renowned in the region – in 2015, the prestigious French wine guide Bettane+Desseauve named it the best winery in Gascony. Fézas cultivates 65 hectares, working with what defines Gascony: local grape varieties, windswept vineyards, and a style that prioritizes origin over convention.

Chiroulet's wines are no compromises. They taste of place, altitude, wind – and of the craftsmanship of a family that has learned to read this terroir over generations.
