Domaine Chiroulet – an independent family winery for over 150 years. 65 hectares of vineyards at the highest altitude in Gascony, approximately 180 meters above sea level. The name comes from the wind – "Chiroula" in the local dialect. It blows continuously, and together with the southern exposure, the vines produce healthy grapes and the highest quality. Philippe Fézas, a sixth-generation winemaker, is considered a "wine artist" of Gascony. In 2015, Chiroulet was awarded the title of best winery in Gascony by the French wine guide Bettane+Desseauve. six generations of Gascons at 180 meters altitude
Domaine Chiroulet is located on the highest elevations of Gascony, about 180 meters above sea level – and the wind belongs to the winery here just like the vines themselves. The locals call this constant draft "Chiroula," which keeps the grapes dry, keeps rot away, and gave the winery its name. On 65 hectares of south-facing slopes, grapes grow that hardly need any intervention.
Philippe Fézas runs the family winery in the sixth generation and is considered one of the defining winemakers of his time in the region. In 2015, the renowned French wine guide Bettane+Desseauve named it the best winery in Gascony – a recognition based on over 150 years of independent family work. No corporation, no cooperation: Chiroulet remains what it has always been.
The wines directly reflect this origin: fresh, characterful, with the lively acidity and aromatics that the southwest French climate shapes. Whether Colombard, Gros Manseng, or the local red wine varieties – here you can taste where the bottles come from.
