Château Beau-Site —
Cabernet power from Saint-Estèphe

Château Beau-Site lies in the heart of Saint-Estèphe , the northernmost of the great Médoc appellations. The heavy, iron-rich soils of this peninsula give the wines a characteristic tannin structure and a cool spiciness, which causes Cabernet Sauvignon to ripen differently here than in Pauillac or Margaux—firmer, earthier, with more bite in its youth.

For decades, Château has been one of the most reliable names among the Crus Bourgeois of the Médoc. The vineyards stretch across the typical gravelly ridges of the appellation, ensuring good drainage and even ripening. In the cellar, the team employs classic Bordeaux methods: controlled maceration, aging in oak barrels, some of which are new to maintain a balance between fruit and oak.

Beau-Site wines are not for quick drinking. They need time in the cellar—and reward patience with a glass that smells of cassis, cedar, and a hint of graphite. Recommended pairing: leg of lamb with herbs de Provence or aged Mimolette cheese.
