Caldora Vini – the soul of Abruzzo. The Fantini Group has established its winery in Castello Caldora in Ortona, a 15th-century fortress. With respect for the cultural heritage and millennia-old winemaking tradition, they cultivate 1,500 hectares of vineyards between the Majella Mountains and the Adriatic coast. The microclimate is ideal for Montepulciano d'Abruzzo, Trebbiano, Pecorino, and Cerasuolo. Just 18 miles from the sea, sheltered by mountains – perfect conditions. In the historic cellars, wines of international renown mature. Abruzzo, as it should taste.

Caldora Vini –
Abruzzese wine culture from Castello Ortona

Caldora Vini is the winery of the Fantini Group in the heart of the Abruzzo – housed in the Castello Caldora in Ortona, a fortress from the 15th century. The historic masonry is not a mere backdrop piece: the wines mature in the old cellar vaults, and the connection between place, history, and craft is not a marketing formula here, but lived practice.

The vineyards extend over 1500 hectares between the Majella Mountains and the Adriatic coast. About 30 kilometers as the crow flies to the sea, protective mountains in the back – a microclimate that suits the classic grape varieties of the region: Montepulciano d'Abruzzo with its deep color and spicy fruit, the fresh Trebbiano, the mineral Pecorino, and the characterful Cerasuolo, the pink expression of the Montepulciano.

What distinguishes Caldora is the consistency with which the Fantini Group relies on regional varieties instead of switching to international trend varieties. The wines reflect how the Abruzzo tastes – direct, substantial, and without detours.
