From Barcelona to the world: Jana Robles and the idea of a pure Rosé house
Born Rosé Barcelona was founded in 2019 by a group of women from Barcelona who put their know-how, their energy, and their own savings into a clearly defined project: to produce the best Mediterranean rosé – and nothing else. At the helm is Jana Robles, entrepreneur and CEO, whose career path took her through the USA, China, and the Netherlands. This international experience still shapes the brand's attitude today: global in distribution, consistently Mediterranean in character. Today, Born Rosé is represented in 25 countries on four continents – a remarkable reach for a house that has focused exclusively on rosé since its founding.
Ecological cultivation, minimal intervention, maximum fruit
The grapes for Born Rosé come from certified organically managed vineyards in the Penedès region, Catalonia. Grenache Noir and Tempranillo form the basis of all wines – two Mediterranean grape varieties that, in combination, provide freshness, color, and fruity expression. In the cellar, the principle of minimal intervention applies: reduced sulfite use, consistently vegan processing, vinification geared towards freshness and light color. The result is wines that remain light in body and alcohol – deliberately designed to reflect the Mediterranean drinking style, where wine is part of everyday life, not its exception.
Born Rosé does not see sustainability as a marketing promise, but as a production condition: organic farming and vegan certification are not an extra for the house, but a set standard since the first vintage.
One style, one focus – and a growing assortment around rosé
All wines from Born Rosé Barcelona are pale salmon-colored, dry, light, and aromatic. The style is clear: fresh red berries, citrus peel, white flowers, and Mediterranean herbs on the nose, taut, lively acidity on the palate, clean finish without heaviness. The assortment has developed in breadth since its founding – from the classic still wine to a Rosé Spritz (Grenache Noir and Tempranillo, 8% vol., Mediterranean botanicals) to canned formats for spontaneous occasions. An alcohol-free line is now also part of the portfolio, consistently brought to the same quality standard as the core products. Internationally awarded – including gold medals at the Concours Mondial de Bruxelles, the Grenaches du Monde, and the London Wine Competition – Born Rosé has shown in a short time that focus and craftsmanship are no contradiction to accessibility and lightness.
