Yume Tre Autoctoni

Three southern Italian grape varieties, one wine: Caldora's Yume Tre Autoctoni combines Montepulciano, Primitivo and Nerello Mascalese into a distinctive cuvée that captures the aromatic diversity of the Mezzogiorno in one bottle.

Caldora Vini is one of the larger wineries in Abruzzo and consistently focuses on the region's indigenous grape varieties—varieties that have been rooted in their respective terroirs for centuries. The Yume ( Japanese for "dream" ) extends beyond Abruzzo: Primitivo brings Apulian sunshine, Nerello Mascalese comes from Sicily, and Montepulciano forms the Abruzzo backbone—in 40% and 20% blends, respectively.

In the glass, dark plum and ripe blackberry from the Primitivo are evident, along with black cherry and licorice from the Montepulciano, complemented by floral undertones and lively acidity from the Nerello Mascalese. Medium-bodied, with soft yet present tannins, and a spicy finish with a hint of tobacco. The gold medal at the 2020 Frankfurt International Trophy underscores the successful balance of this unusual cuvée.

Ready to drink now until 2026. Serve at 16–17 °C — with braised lamb ragù, pasta with cinghiale or spicy pecorino stagionato.

Caldora Vini Winery

Caldora Vini – the soul of Abruzzo. The Fantini Group has established its winery in Castello Caldora in Ortona, a 15th-century fortress. With respect for the cultural heritage and millennia-old winemaking tradition, they cultivate 1,500 hectares of vineyards between the Majella Mountains and the Adriatic coast. The microclimate is ideal for Montepulciano d'Abruzzo, Trebbiano, Pecorino, and Cerasuolo. Just 18 miles from the sea, sheltered by mountains – perfect conditions. In the historic cellars, wines of international renown mature. Abruzzo, as it should taste.
