Jechtingen-Amoltern Winegrowers' Cooperative Müller Thurgau Kabinett "Steingrube"

A pleasing Kabinett wine from the Kaiserstuhl – fruity, light, and without rough edges: the Müller-Thurgau “Steingrube” makes no grand promises, but keeps the ones it makes.

The Winzergenossenschaft Jechtingen-Amoltern cultivates sites on the Kaiserstuhl, one of the warmest wine-growing regions in Germany. The volcanic loess soil of the “Steingrube” gives the Müller-Thurgau a soft, minerally-backed base. As a Kabinett, the wine classically carries little alcohol and a subtle residual sweetness – typical for the style of this Prädikat wine level.

In the glass, it shows aromas of white peach, pollen, and a hint of nutmeg – the varietal signature of Müller-Thurgau. The palate is light, the acidity mild, and the sweetness restrained. Not a complex profile, but a clean, drinkable wine without any harshness.

Winzergenossenschaft Jechtingen-Amoltern

Do you know the feeling when volcanic rock and sun embrace? That is exactly what happens at the Kaiserstuhl, where the Jechtinger Weinmanufaktur is at home. What was founded in 1924 by 30 winemakers is today a community of 340 winemaker families who farm 240 hectares of vineyards [citation:1][citation:5].

The special feature: The vineyards are located on black volcanic rock and clay soils – this gives the Burgundians their power and elegance [citation:2].
