Chardonnay Sparkling Wine Brut Nature

Five years of lees aging – that's not a marketing promise, but the reason why this Chardonnay sparkling wine from Rheinhessen tastes so different from most German sparkling wines. Weedenborn ferments in the bottle using the classic traditional method, riddles by hand, and forgoes dosage entirely in its Brut Nature.

In the glass, it displays a radiant golden-yellow, finely moussed appearance. The nose offers ripe gooseberry, melon, and a hint of banana – complemented by a distinct caramel note resulting from extended lees autolysis. On the palate, it is mineral, full-bodied, with a soft Burgundy texture and a dry finish without any harshness.

Pairs well with oysters, aged goat cheese, or scallops with butter sauce. Chilled at 7–8 °C, it is equally convincing as an aperitif or as an accompaniment to a meal.
