Villa Sparina Gavi Gavi DOCG del Comune di Gavi 0.75L

The Gavi del Comune di Gavi from Villa Sparina is one of the classics of Piedmont: a dry white wine from the Cortese grape that clearly reflects the chalky hilly landscape around the town of Gavi in the glass.

Villa Sparina has been farming sites in the heart of the DOCG zone for generations — exactly where the strictest designation of origin for Gavi applies. The “del Comune di Gavi” in the name is not a marketing addition, but a separate quality level within the appellation: the grapes come exclusively from the core area of the municipality of Gavi itself.

In the glass, it shines straw yellow with green reflections. On the nose, white flowers, green apple, and a hint of almond appear — typical for pure-toned Cortese from lime-rich soil. On the palate, there is lively acidity, a slender body, and a mineral-fresh finish that keeps the wine interesting despite its accessibility.

Drinking temperature 10–12 °C. Pairs well with Ligurian pesto, risotto with seafood, grilled sea bass, or as an aperitif with focaccia.
