Vigna Spuntali Brunello di Montalcino
The grapes for the Vigna Spuntali Brunello di Montalcino come from the Vigna Spuntali vineyard, renowned as the finest area on the southwestern slopes of Montalcino. This terroir, being the sunniest and driest of the three Montalcino slopes, produces wines of exceptional quality. Its relative proximity to the sea moderates temperature extremes, creating a more balanced range between day and night temperatures. As a result, the Sangiovese grapes on this terroir achieve maximum ripeness, yielding very creamy wines with sweet, soft tannins. The Vigna Spuntali Brunello di Montalcino also displays notes of candied fruit in its bouquet, a testament to the unique terroir. Indeed, its bouquet is exceptionally rich in aromas of ripe red fruits such as sour cherries, alongside hints of dried figs and oranges. The sweet, soft tannins linger on the finish, accompanied by flavors of blackberries and plums. The wine was aged for two years in 300-liter French oak barrels, followed by another two years in the bottle. A truly special wine that lives up to its promise! Gambero Rosso: 3 glasses for the 2015 vintage; Falstaff: 96 points for the 2015 vintage; Robert M. Parker: 95 points for the 2015 vintage

It is an estate with a unique feature that sets it apart from all others in the Montalcino region: three vineyards situated on three different aspects of Montalcino, each with very different soils. The enhancement of these three vineyards and the improvement of their characteristics led to the creation in 2014 of three Brunello varieties: Vigna del Lago (from grapes grown in the northern vineyard), Vigna Spuntali (from grapes grown in the southwestern vineyard), and Poggio al Granchio (from grapes grown in the southeastern vineyard).
