Vermentino Riviera Ligure di Ponente

A Vermentino that shows why the Riviera Ligure di Ponente is one of the best growing areas for this grape variety: salty-mineral, with Mediterranean spice and a freshness that reminds one of the proximity to the coast.

The Lupi de Peq Agri winery grows its vines in western Liguria, where the sea is close enough to shape the microclimate. Vermentino is considered the leading grape variety of this narrow coastal region — and needs exactly these conditions to develop its characteristic minerality.

In the glass, golden yellow with slightly bronze-colored reflections. On the nose, pineapple, candied cedar peel, and thyme — a combination that clearly shows the Mediterranean character of the wine. In the mouth, wonderful freshness, a slight grip on the tongue, and a pronounced mineral finish that lingers for a long time.

Best served at 10–12 °C. Pairs with grilled sea bass or branzino, with pasta with seafood, or a summery salad with peaches and pine nuts. Also a good choice as an uncomplicated aperitif on warm evenings.
