Vermentino di Sardegna DOC

Sardinia and Vermentino belong together like salt and sea — hardly any grape variety carries the character of an island so directly within itself. Audarya, a winery from the south of Sardinia, works with this flagship grape variety of the Mediterranean in a way that brings its natural liveliness to the fore.

In the glass, this Vermentino di Sardegna DOC shows aromas of ripe peach and citrus peel, plus a fine herbal spice typical of the Sardinian macchia — rosemary, bay leaf, a hint of wild fennel. On the palate, it appears juicy and pleasantly fresh, with an acidity structure that invigorates without stinging. The finish is mineral and slightly salty, carried by a melt that makes the wine appear round despite all its freshness. No corners, no edges — but also no lack of character.

Served at 10–12 °C, it works just as convincingly as an aperitif as it does with sushi, grilled sea bass, or a cedri carpaccio with burrata and Parma ham. It also fits harmoniously with seafood, light pasta dishes with zucchini, or a fresh goat cheese salad — in short: a wine for the table where it should taste like summer.
