Verdeluce

A white wine from Umbria that showcases the region's diversity in an unusual blend: Pinot Bianco, Sémillon and Grechetto — three grape varieties that rarely end up together in a glass.

The Cotarella family is one of the most influential names in the Central Italian wine scene. Riccardo Cotarella, one of Italy's most influential oenologists, runs the winery together with his family. Verdeluce is their approach to blending the local Grechetto grape with international varieties—the result is not an uncompromising wine of typicality, but rather an openly constructed cuvée experiment with substance.

In the glass, the 2024 vintage displays lemon zest and white peach, with a subtle floral note of acacia blossom. The Sémillon component lends the wine texture and a creamy mouthfeel, adding weight to the otherwise lean acidity. The finish is fresh, with a hint of almond—typical of Grechetto from the Umbrian hills.

Serving suggestion: Serve chilled at 10–12 °C. Pairs well with pasta with pecorino and lemon oil, pan-fried sea bass, or a light goat cheese. Also makes a great aperitif with olives and focaccia. Drink now until 2027.
