Turi Bianco IGT

Catarratto with bite: The Turi Bianco shows what Sicily's oldest white wine grape variety can do if you give it time and care. Hand-picked, three days of skin contact, spontaneous fermentation — the result is not a pleasing summer wine, but a white with a real backbone.

Behind the wine is the Azienda Agricola Salvatore Marino, a Sicilian estate that relies on the power of the island instead of international adaptation. Catarratto is not a compromise solution here, but a conviction: the variety has dominated the hills of western Sicily for centuries and, with low yields and artisanal vinification, brings exactly this depth that the Turi Bianco shows in the glass.

Gold yellow, with a scent of ripe pear, fennel herb, and a hint of dried apricot. The skin contact gives the wine texture and grip, the spontaneous fermentation ensures lively spice. On the palate, juicy, with a fresh acidity structure and a long, slightly salty finish.

Serving temperature 10–12 °C. Pairs well with pizza bianca con guanciale e patate, gnocchi with Gorgonzola and pear, or grilled octopus with lemon and capers.
