The Factor Shiraz

A Shiraz that showcases the Barossa Valley in its most concentrated form: dark fruit, depth and a structure that demands time in the glass.

Torbreck Vintners has been working in the Barossa Valley since 1994, with a clear focus on Rhône grape varieties. The vineyards there have a rich history: Shiraz, Grenache, and Mourvèdre have been cultivated in this region since 1840. Today, the winery owns some of the Barossa's most prized vineyards, including the historic Hillside vineyard in Lyndoch and The Laird in Marananga. Since 2013, Pete Kight has been managing the winery together with Chief Winemaker Ian Hongell.

In the glass, The Factor Shiraz displays aromas of blueberry and ripe plum, underpinned by black pepper. The tannins are firm and present without being harsh. The long finish brings mineral notes and spice—a wine with real substance.

Best served at 16–18 °C . Pairs well with braised lamb rump, roast beef, or strong hard cheeses. If you have the time: decanting for one to two hours is recommended.
