Talamonti Moda Montepulciano d'Abruzzo
Deep ruby red with violet reflections — the Modà from Talamonti shows what Montepulciano d'Abruzzo can do when the vines are allowed to grow in the hills of Abruzzo under the sun of the Adriatic Sea.
Talamonti is located in Loreto Aprutino, one of the historic wine-growing centers of Abruzzo. The winery focuses on the indigenous Montepulciano grape variety — thick-skinned berries that bring natural color depth and tannin structure.
In the glass, the wine opens with aromas of dark cherry, plum, and a hint of raspberry. The palate reveals red and dark fruits, soft, well-integrated tannins, and a pleasant finish. Not an angular, heavy red—but an approachable, well-rounded everyday wine with genuine character.
Serving suggestion: Drink now, until 2026. Serve at 16–17 °C. Pairs well with pasta all'Amatriciana, grilled lamb chops, or a mature Pecorino cheese.
Talamonti lies in the heart of Abruzzo – one of Italy's most exciting wine regions, often underestimated but increasingly earning its place in the market. Alfredo and Antonella di Tonno cultivate their grapes here with a deep understanding of the region: their crisp, mineral Pecorino and characterful Trebbiano showcase the potential of Abruzzo's white wines. These are complemented by powerful red wines made from Montepulciano – profound, rich, and full of character. What makes Talamonti so special? Here you get handcrafted quality that impresses even international critics – without breaking the bank.
