Sol lui Piemonte DOC

Sol lui Piemonte is a dry Sauvignon Blanc from Piedmont: fragrant, light-footed, and with a herbal accent that is reminiscent of a spring meadow.

La Scolca is a family business that is primarily known for its white wines around Gavi. With this wine, the family takes a personal step: Chiara Soldati dedicates it to her mother, Luisa Soldati. As a Piemonte DOC, it shows that Sauvignon Blanc is also at home in the region alongside the classic varieties.

On the nose, the wine appears harmonious and delicately fruity, plus a hint of aromatic herbs. On the palate, it is dry, lean, and light-footed without appearing heavy. An uncomplicated white wine that invites you to take the next sip.

Recommendation: Serve it at 8–10 °C with asparagus with herbal vinaigrette, young goat cream cheese, antipasti, or grilled fish. It also cuts a fine figure as an aperitif on the terrace or on a mild summer evening in the garden.

The Winery

La Scolca

La Scolca is an Italian winery from the Piedmont region. It was founded around 1919 by the Soldati family and is now in its fifth generation under the leadership of Giorgio Soldati and his daughter Chiara Soldati.

The winery's vineyards are located just a few kilometers from the sea, offering perfect temperature conditions. The soils are characterized by limestone and clay, as well as a high iron content. On its total of 50 hectares of vineyards, La Scolca cultivates grape varieties such as Cortese, Cortese di Gavi, or Pinot Noir for the production of its wines.
