Schlossberg Pinot Noir GG Rudolf Fürst

The Schlossberg is no ordinary site — it is one of the most historically significant Pinot Noir terroirs in Franconia, and Rudolf Fürst gets everything out of it that the steep terraced vineyard has to offer.

The Fürst winery from Bürgstadt am Main is considered a reference address for German Pinot Noir. For decades, the family has been working on the Mittelburg of the Main with consistently low yields and a sense for Pinot typicity that is unparalleled in Germany. The Schlossberg is extremely steep, the slopes store heat, the vines are under stress — the result is a wine with depth and character.

In the glass, the GG shows a dark cherry color with ruby red reflections. On the nose, red sour cherry dominates, complemented by violets and a fine hint of herbs. The palate is silky-fiery: ripe tannins, the warmth of the site palpable, but always in balance with the freshness typical of Franconia. The finish is long and spicy.

Serving temperature: 16–18 °C. Pairs with wild boar loin, duck breast with cherry sauce, or mature goat cheese.
