Sauvignon Blanc

Landerer's Sauvignon Blanc shows what the Kaiserstuhl region can do with this grape variety: clear structure, aromatic precision and a freshness that doesn't tire you even on warm evenings.

The Landerer winery is located in Vogtsburg-Oberbergen in the Kaiserstuhl region – one of Germany's warmest wine-growing areas, characterized by volcanic loess soil over weathered rock. This warmth of the soil gives the Sauvignon Blanc ripeness and body without sacrificing its characteristic vibrancy. The Landerer family is one of the most reliable wineries in Baden: meticulously crafted, with a clear focus on terroir, and without any tendency towards excessive marketing.

In the glass, the wine displays lively, firmly integrated acidity and precise aromatics. The nose offers gooseberry, grapefruit peel, and a hint of green bell pepper, along with a subtle herbal note reminiscent of elderflower and fresh thyme. On the palate, the wine is lean and straightforward: no heaviness, no residual sugar to mask the fruit. The finish is dry, saline, and pleasantly long – a testament to the mineral-rich soil in which the vines grow.

Landerer

Landerer Winery – this is Burgundy that tastes of volcanic soil. Literally. On the Kaiserstuhl, where ancient volcanic rock forms the soil, the Landerer family has cultivated their vines for generations. The Kirchberg, Eichberg, and Henkenberg vineyards give the wines something that can't be forced – it has to be allowed to happen. Johannes Landerer understood this early on. At 17, he planted his first vineyard, experimented in the barren rock, and developed his own style. In 2016, after the sudden death of his father, Thomas, he took over the winery – a heavy burden he bears with respect and passion. What drives him: that you can truly taste in the glass where the wine comes from. Vintage, soil, microclimate – everything should be perceptible. To achieve this, his team works in harmony with nature, consciously reduces yields, and gives the grapes time to ripen. Wine that tells a story. People who listen.
