Ried Perz Gelber Muskateller Erste STK Ried QW South Styria 0.75L
Gelber Muskateller from Southern Styria polarizes — either you love the varietal-typical floral aroma, or you don't. The Ried Perz from Weingut Gross belongs to the wines that show this type at a serious level: precise, dry, with a real site reference instead of pleasing sweetness.
Weingut Gross in Ratsch an der Weinstraße is one of the defining addresses of Southern Styria. The family has been managing their sites for generations; the Ried Perz is one of the classified single sites — recognized as Erste STK Ried, which corresponds to the highest level of the Styrian site classification. This status is an obligation: site wines of this level must make their origin palpable.
In the glass, the wine shows the full Muskateller spectrum: mandarin, lemon blossom, lemon balm, and a hint of sage. Added to this is a lively acidity typical of Southern Styria, which gives the wine contour and stretches the aromatics instead of making them seem sweet. The finish is dry and spicy.
Served cold at 8–10 °C, it pairs with goat cheese, asparagus with hollandaise sauce, or light fish dishes with herbs. Also a clear recommendation as an aperitif — especially on warm evenings when you want something with character in your glass.
