°Puntay Südtiroler Weißburgunder DOC

The °Puntay Pinot Bianco from Erste + Neue is one of the style-defining Pinot Biancos of South Tyrol — a white wine that combines elegance with clear alpine minerality.

Erste + Neue is one of the oldest wine cooperatives in South Tyrol, based in Kaltern am See. The cooperative pools the knowledge and sites of numerous winegrower families from the Überetsch and the South Tyrolean Wine Road. The grapes for the °Puntay are hand-picked and selected in chosen sites before the wine matures for twelve months in large wooden barrels — long enough to develop structure without masking the variety's typical freshness.

In the glass, it shows ripe peach and apple aromas, underscored by white blossoms and a fine minerality that recalls the limestone soils of the South Tyrolean hillsides. The palate is medium-bodied and textured, the acidity precisely integrated, the finish fresh and long.

On the table, it cuts a fine figure with white asparagus with hollandaise sauce, steamed kohlrabi, or monkfish with caper butter. Serving temperature: 10–12 °C.
