Portillo Malbec

The Portillo Malbec from Salenstein is an approachable Argentinian wine that combines the typical power of Malbec with a soft melt – without the heavy oakiness of many competitors.

Salenstein is one of Mendoza's most renowned wineries. The grapes for the Portillo grow in the Uco Valley, a high plateau at over 1,000 meters altitude at the foot of the Andes. The combination of intense sunshine and cool nights ensures ripe fruit with a fresh structure.

In the glass, it displays a deep ruby red color. The nose offers aromas of plum, black cherry, and a hint of dark chocolate. On the palate, it presents a juicy body with soft tannins and a creamy texture – no harshness, no harshness. The finish is short to medium-long, with a subtle cocoa note.
